Q: Can I really display my products and services for free here?
A: Yes.
Q: What is digital content?
A: Digital content means any product or service deliverable electronically over the internet.
Q: In more detail, can you tell me what qualifies as digital content?
A: Of course, here is a non-exhaustive list of product categories:

Q: For the moment, I am selling my software on CDs. Can I make it available from eContent Store?
A: Yes, but only in downloadable form. We are not distributing content on physical medium. That means no physical CD or DVD shipments. Your customers can only download the products you make available.
Q: How can my customers download my products?
A: As soon as they have made the payment, your customers receive a download link, available for a 24-hour period.
Q: How big can eContent Store become over time?
A: We will not limit growth, we have the possibility to add hardware (storage, processing power, etc.) whenever needed.
Q: Can I really display unlimited number of products?
A: Yes, products that you own or have the right to distribute. See the eContent Store Partnership Agreement for the details.
Q: Can I display one product more than once?
A: No.
Q: This is great but my products will be displayed at the same place as those of the competition! Won’t this affect my business negatively?
A: Not at all. Here’s why:
- Your products are not exactly the same as those of your competition.
- Not everyone wants the same product, everybody has different needs.
- Your competitors’ customers have access to your products; the shop is categorized, don’t forget it.
- If you develop something new, you can display it without any investment or effort to everyone on the marketplace! Of course we strongly encourage you to do your own marketing campaign parallel to displaying your products at the eContent Store Marketplace. Good marketing can help a lot.
Q: I want to advertise my products on eContent Store, is it possible?
A: No. Our goal is to create a place where every Provider has an equal chance of displaying their products.
Q: I have one product, Provider X has 50.000 products. How will my visibility increase with such huge providers around?
A: Don’t forget that every customer on the eContent Store Marketplace is a human being with different tastes and different centers of interest. Having some big Digital Content Providers will bring you more customers, it is the rule of big numbers.
Q: Why should I become an eContent Store Partner, rather than open a Luxembourg Subsidiary on my own?
A: Keeping a Subsidiary in Luxembourg costs minimum €35.000 per year (see details here). Plus, you would probably never be able to achieve the huge visibility bonus you can get by partnering with us.
Q: How many languages will eContent Store Support?
A: We want the whole website to be available to every European Citizen in his/her native language by the end of 2010. After that we might even consider translating the site to other, non-EU languages.
Q: Can I contribute to the translations?
A: Yes. We welcome anyone who wants to help us out with translating eContent Store to other languages.
